Interests: Stan Chan da Piano Man at your service. Music is my passion. Trained as a classical pianist at the age of 4, I've played pieces ranging from Beethoven to Brahms to Chopin. In addition, I'm a composer, writing music the piano, violin, cello, and flute. As such, I love attending symphonies and musicals. On the FLIP SIDE, I luv Trance music (fun to dance to), Chinese music (best way to learn Chinese), and soundtracks (the music makes the movie)! A rock concert here and there rounds out the list!
Expertise: Music Music Music!!! I can play anything I hear on the radio if it has a melody to it. You want Trance on the piano - you got it! Composition and improv is a talent of mine, focusing on romantic ballades. I'm such a romantic ^)^I'm a human guinea pig when it comes to eating. As the official food taster of ANY and ALL exotic foods, my black hole of a stomach will brave the unknown culinary arts and spices of countries far far away. At the end of the day, it's Thumbs UP or Thumbs DOWN.

| September/October 2010: Birthdays, Wedding, & Halloween Scares      
Saturday, October 2nd, 2010 Pirates Of Emerson Haunted Fields Adventure
Halloween 2010 is starting early this year!!! My housemate, Randy, works for Pirates of Emerson, and his company created a Haunted Theme Park this Halloween at the Pleasanton Fairgrounds: The Pirates of Emerson Haunted Fields Adventure. Randy hooked us up with free tickets, so off we go to visit the haunts in the dead of the night! There were SIX haunted houses spread throughout the fairgrounds, each with their own theme, including (1) Dig of the Dead, (2) Night Scare Before Xmas, (3) Bilge Rat Maze, (4) Pirates of Emerson, (5) KillBilly Kabin, and (6) ManAnimal Lab. Of course, throughout the maze and fairgrounds were tons of monsters, zombie pirates, and other creepy things that go bump in night, who will do their best to scare the living daylights out of you! The makeup an zombie pirates patrolling the haunts were awesome! When they sneak up on you when you least expect it, you're in for a scare. Since Eve was the self-proclaimed scaredy-cat of the group, we put her in front as Operation Human Shield to bait the monsters out of hiding! Great night of scares, thrills, and screams ^)^ Halloween 2010 has officially started!

PG&E Volunteer Event - 'Stow Lake Clean Up @ Golden Gate Park'
Participated in a PG&E volunteer event today at Stow Lake in Golden Gate Part in San Francisco. The “Stow Lake Clean Up” had us clear Strawberry Hills of weed and plant flowers on the hillside. We took up our gardening tools and went to work hacking at the weeds, dead tree stumps, and other debris buried under the dirt. Hard work, but it was worth it, as we transformed an entire hillside of weeds into a bare landscape ready for planting! We tried to dig up one giant tree stump, but it was so big and the roots were so widespread, that after 90 minutes, we had to call it in! Afterwards, Business Finance enjoyed a fun annual BBQ and engaged in some fun games and activities.
 September 18th, 2010 Niyeti & Vineet's Engagement/Wedding Ceremony+ Ken Leung's Bday @ V-Bar Attended Niyeti and Vineet's engagement wedding event at the Corinthian Event Center today. I've known Niyeti for a long time - literally saw her grow up! I've always thought of her as Sanyem's darling little sisters, but she's all grown up now and getting ready for her wedding!!! The engagement party was held here in the States while the official wedding will take place in India. Although it was only the engagement, it certainly looked and felt like the real wedding, as the spectacle was lavish and full of entertainment. There were many dance performances and best of all was the Rastogi Family dance! The food was very good too. Congratulations to Niyeti and Vineet on their special day! After the wedding, it was off to Ken the Man's bday celebration at V-Bar at Santana Row  
Saturday, September 18th, 2010 September 18th, 2010: the day of the double birthdays: Sedi Win aka SedFucious aka Sedrick Wynn and Jacklynn's coworker: Dan Pham the Man. Sedi's birthday dinner was held at Elements in Almaden, a fusion of Vietnamese and French cuisines and Dan's bday event was held at Marrakech, a Morrocan hookah lounge in SF, in the heart of the Tenderloin district. The best birhday gifts to the birthday boys this year: their very own Cook To Bang recipe book ^)^ The hookah at Marrakech was awesome as we indulged in Orange, Apple, and Licorice flavors. Happy Birthday to Sedi and Dan and may you cook the “best” meals!!!

Francis & Lea Ann's Wedding
Today was a special day as my good college friend and dormmate from UC Davis, Francis, got married to Lea Ann. The wedding took place at the beautiful Queen of Apostles Catholic Church in San Jose, and the reception was held at the Ranch Gold Club. The wedding was beautiful, spiritual, and very musical, as the priest would preach and break out into song. It was like watching a musical! The reception took place at the Ranch Gold Club, where the food was delicious, and the entertainment, unforgettable. Musical Chairs Bouquet and Garter Toss!!! In addition, the lion dance was awesome!!! Congrats to Francis and Lea Ann!!!

Green Day Concert @ Shoreline Amphitheatre
What's a better Labor Day Weekend than to go to a rock concert! Jacklynn and I joined Chris and Jen at the Green Day concert at the Shoreline Amphitheatre tonight, and it was crazy!!! The lighting was spectacular, the pyrotechnics were off the wall, and of course, Green Day was awesome!!! Billy Joe Armstrong was the ultimate entertainer as he sang to the crowd, while running up and down the stage. Some of the songs performed that night included the famous, "Boulevard of Broken Dreams", "Wake Me Up When September Ends", "American Idiot", and "Time Of Your Life", "Jesus of Suburbia", and many more. It was the last concert of Green Day's 2010 Tour, so it was a spectacular show!

Jack London Square 'Eat Real' Food Festival
The Jack London Square 'Eat Real' Food Festival was quite a blast today in Oakland. Tons of food, everywhere, left, right, forward, backward, all around!!! Some of the foodstuff we tried were the “nunchuck' chicken tacos, garlic noodles, paella, and Argentinian rib-eye steak! Not a bad way to spend a sunny Sunday afternoon ^)^

Jacklynn's Birthday @ Straits Cafe & V-Bar
Happy Birthday to Jacklynn!!! It's time to celebrate another wonderful 21st birthday!!! I took her to Straits Cafe at Santana Row where we had a fuji apple and shrimp salad, banana leaf wrapped salmon, and seafood risotto. Because it was Jacklynn's bday, Straits gave her a slice of chocolate ginger cake on the house! Delicious! Afterwards, it was time for gifts!!! (1) Sephora gift certificate, (2) mini Hello Kitty doll [yes.. Tim... I got her another Hello Kitty gift, as you predicted ^)^], (3) LUSH soap products, and (4) an apple and $300 AAPL gift certificate towards an iPod Touch or hopefully, iPhone 4!!! After dinner and the gift exchange, we met up with friends at the Cocola dessert cafe next door before moving on to a night full of fun at V-Bar. A Mojito was downed, Gummy Bears and Chocolate Cake shots were knocked back, and keeping with the Apple theme, an Apple Martini was enjoyed as well by the birthday girl. Thanks to everyone for coming out to celebrate with the birthday girl! Happy Birthday, Jacklynn!!!

Kevin looks like he just won the lottery July 24th, 2010: Dan, Simon, & Jeremy's Triple Bday Potluck Happy Birthday to Dan, Simon, and Jeremy!!! It's that time of year again, when we celebrate the July birthdays of the Three Amigos aka the Ambiguously Gay Three-O ^)^ The birthday potluck was held at the beautiful Northpark Apartments, and it was food galore! Carne Asada, Gyros, grilled fresh oysters, soy chicken, and traditional & peach sangria! Kudos to Ehvan for his delicious Green Tea Cheesecake for the birthday boys!
